Haiku

by Bradford Noble

1)
The challenge we face
Worries me: in time, resolve
Will cover it up.

2)
There is a purpose to
Resistance. Without it, soft
Sutures for Mountains

3) No Spaces

Deepenoughtodive.

4)
My Robert Frost was
The type who peeled an orange
The first pass through it.

Though I've not read his
Biography, but heard he
Wrote whole, in a stroke.

I wrote that over
Three months, in three forms, edits
And words done, undone.

5) Trajectory
The arc we can share
Requires progress through time;
Slowed, the ground moves up.

Yet, shared movement
Is a part of potential.
You can't deny that.

6) Not a Haiku
Rhetoric's mere consistency
Can't tilt the cold, unaffected
Arc of the moon
In all her phases
Between these ranges of dusty stones.

I remind myself of what
I haven't ever held in holding you.
