VELVET REVOLVER
::ROSELAND NYC::

The show was so great!! I managed to sneak in my digital camera and take some pics. They played a bunch of Velvet songs mixed in with STP and G&R covers. They did 2 encores and finished off with a cover of Nirvana's "Negative Creep". By the end of the show Scott was exhausted and looked like he hardly had the energy to bow to the crowd.

It was the first time in a long time that I actually moshed. I was up front the whole time. Scott Weiland was so good and definitely still hasn't lost any of his rock star qualities. He looked so happy to be up on stage. Slash was also amazing...he rocked hard on guitar. My ears are still ringing. The Stone Temple Pilots covers they did were alright but having seen STP it lacked something. Scott was good on vocals but the band didn't sound as good as the STP guys do. No one can replace the DeLeo brothers. The STP covers included “Sex Type Thing”, “Crakerman”, “Plush” I think people are gonna really like their new album. Scott talked to the crowd about kicking his Heroin addiction before playing a new song called "Fall to Pieces". He mentioned that his life was turned upside down and his wife left him. At one point people started shouting AXL sucks!! and Slash got on the mic and said, "Come on guys there's no need for that". The G&R covers were great they played 'Mr Browstone' & 'Used to Love Her' plus a few others.

The crowd was kinda weird as you can imagine G&R and STP have a different type of fan base. I describe the G&R fans as older Jersey guys that also like Bruce Springsteen. I shouldn't put everyone in that category since I like G&R myself but there were more than a few Jersey guys there.

The only thing that kinda sucked was waiting for Velvet Revolver to come on after the opening band. I took them over an hour to come out and after people started to boo they got their asses in gear and came out.
