by Dr. Christian Carey This Microwave World makes raucously catchy indie rock on their debut album Red States. TMW supplies tunes that fit in nicely with the current craze for danceable neo-New Wave, but they add a hard-edged No Wave twist to their songwriting as well. In particular, guitarist Sean O'Neal's vocals, with their hard-edged, yawping energy, propel this band past many retro eighties outfits into fresh musical terrain. Songs like "Death of a Taxpayer," "She's Insecure," and "The Party Line" are memorable, rhythmically propulsive creations that will leave listeners clamoring for more on the dance floor.
