Editor's Note: This is a new feature for us. We get sporadic fan mail from the masses out there, and this is an opportunity to share some of it. Great Hoboes of the World! Who are you? Where are you? What are you up to? Please write us and let us know how you're doing and what gets you your kicks. Our gigantic anonymous computer tells us that we get thousands of visitors every month - we'd love to know more about you! And no, this isn't some gimmick to market to you about where you can get beer in the Bowery or something; we're just curious cats.

Anyway, this month Suzy Schmidt of Sacramento, CA writes to us about her experience with Five Pointz and the Great Hoboes of New York...

I was on my way to Queens via the 7 train last weekend during one of many trips to NYC this year and happened to look out the window at what nearly knocked me off my seat. This scene, this amazing display of talent besieged me, so needless to say I was off the train at the next stop. I hopped off at 45 Road, without haste ran down the stairs, and started down to 23rd and Jackson all alone and on foot. I must admit, it was probably not in my best judgement to take on this adventure solo and in retrospect prolly would have gone back to Brooklyn and grabbed a friend, but I was captivated by what I was seeing and at the moment pretty oblivious to any potential danger.

Anyway, in a period of about 20 minutes I cut through two rolls of film. I walked around for another 1/2 hour or so and that's when reality belted my conscience...I am all by myself, a stranger to this area, walking around in Queens, night is creeping in, and holy shit I am cold. So I cut with the quickness.

I left the next morning to Oakland, CA with a grin and some of the best mementos from NYC ever. When I got back to Sac, I took my film to the 1 hour photo right away. As I handed the guy the film I told him that it'd be his ass if he fucked these up, so take good care of them or you be flying me back to NY.

The dude did his thing and a short time later I had photos. Ahhhh, mission accomplished. I emailed them to some of my friends and it was recognized immediately by most of em.

Anyway, upon examining these flicks, I saw 5pointz painted rather large on one of the buildings. So I tapped in the address and there you were. Pretty damn rad I might add.

So Tyler, ever been to Sacramento? Califas?

Cheers!

Suzy
