The Great Hoboes of New York is produced by young men and women whose art, writing and mindset have been influenced by the Bowery and Lower East Side of the greatest city in the world. It has grown steadily over the past three years. What started as a lone writer's site has grown to present the creations of over thirty individuals. We work as a collective to bring you the best in fiction, poetry, art, comics, and commentary from our ever-expanding circle of colleagues. Our readership is growing, too - Over 16,000 pages are read almost every month! Some recent months have featured of 20,000+ pages! Thank you! We are so glad that so many folks from so many different places check out what we do. Our site is now visited by readers from New York, New England, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Belize, Sweden, Switzerland, Iceland, Japan, and the Netherlands. Most of our readers seem to find us by word of mouth, so please tell your friends, and most importantly, tell us what you love and hate about the site. We're proud to bring a little touch of the Lower East Side to the rest of the world. Check back frequently to see new material, and learn about Hobo-sponsored events! Wanna be automatically kept up to date about the latest and greatest? Just drop me a line to join our mailing list. Thanks, and enjoy!
Great Hoboes Newsflashes!!!

Other notable Hoboes Newsflashes:
- Book! - Great Hobo Fellow-Traveler Gabriel McKee's new book is out - The Gospel According to Science Fiction: From the Twilight Zone to the Final Frontier. Covering the nature of divinity in sci-fi literature, cinema and television, it explores how we treat god within speculative fiction. Fascinating stuff, and well worth picking up at Gabe's site: SFGospel.com.
- Burlesque! - It's Spring and that means Burlesque Season. Check out our burlesque favorites, Little Brooklyn at shows they have scheduled throughout the Spring and Summer. If you like burlesque, be sure to come to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, too, for the best on display.
- The Worst Sex Show Ever! - Mark Hugo is launching a new podcast/radio show called "The Worst Sex Show Ever", in which listeners can call into his program and ask him to provide his suggestions on their intimate matters. What qualifies Mark for this task? Well, absolutely nothing, especially when considering his personal life. And that's where the comedy begins... Click here to submit your questions to the editor, so that he can queue them up for Mark to answer, in the first installment of the program, slated for July 4th (after Mark's had a few).
Brilliant New Content Added: June 26, 2007
We are a (roughly) quarterly publication, with content appearing in between blasts of effort by the Publisher on his latest novel and his laborious dayjob. We're always seeking new contributors and ideas.
Have something you'd like to post or announce? Please email: tyler@greathoboes.com by the fifteenth of each month.
